I’m a big fan of blood oranges, they have a beautiful color, they’re a little bit sweet and a little bit tart. They’re fun to work with. The other day I was at the grocery store and I bought a bag of blood oranges. I’ve been slowly working through that bag by adding them to different recipes.
I had in my head the idea of adding the oranges to a smoothie but I hadn’t quite worked out exactly what the flavor combination would be until today. I went a tropical island route with the flavors. With just four ingredients this smoothie is easy, breezy, blood orange squeezy, or something to that effect.
Ingredients
- 2 frozen bananas
- Juice of 2 blood oranges
- 1 cup of pineapple
- 1/2 cup coconut water
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. If it’s too thick add more coconut water and if it’s too thin add in some ice cubes and blend again.
