‘Cheezy’ Garlic Roasted Potatoes

I love garlic, potatoes and nutritional yeast. For some reason I’d never put these ingredients together before, but I did last night. Really digging the flavor combination that came from these. Nutritional yeast has a nutty and cheesy flavor that really works well with garlic and other seasonings. So I thought I would try it out on some potatoes and glad that I did. Yum!



You can find nutritional yeast at most grocery stores, I know for sure that Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe’s carries it. As a side note, nutritional yeast is super delicious on popcorn and I’m pretty sure you could use the same seasonings from these potatoes on your popcorn and it would be delicious.

‘Cheezy’ Garlic Roasted Potatoes

Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 20-25 mins

Number of servings: 4

This dish is a great side that you could serve with dinner or make em’ just to snack on, whatever floats your boat.


2 lbs Russet potatoes, sliced

1 tbsp olive oil

3 tbsp nutritional yeast

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp sea salt

1/4 tsp pepper

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In the meantime start slicing up your potatoes keeping them about 1/4 inch thick. Once you have them sliced, place them in a large bowl and add olive oil and toss covering them thoroughly. Next you’ll add all your seasonings and toss the potatoes once again to cover. Get in there with your hands if you need to. I find that you get more even distribution of the spices that way.

Now that your potatoes are ready to go, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place potatoes on it and put in the oven for 20-25 minutes and cook to a golden brown. Once out of the oven you can serve them with ketchup or maybe if you’re feeling sassy some sriracha ketchup. Enjoy!
