Cranberry Sauce

This year feels like its’ been hurtling past at lightning speed, Thanksgiving has come and gone in the blink of an eye. I’m a wee bit late on getting this recipe up on the site. If you’re looking for a sweet and simple cranberry sauce recipe for Christmas this one fits the bill.

It’s a little sassy, vivaciously jewel-toned and satisfies the sweet and tart craving you get around the holidays. A few simple ingredients and one pot later and you’ll have a stunning cranberry sauce.

Cranberry Sauce

Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 35 mins

Servings: 6


12 oz fresh cranberries, rinsed

3/4 cup maple syrup

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup of dried cranberries

Juice of one orange

1 tsp orange zest

In a medium saucepan add all of the ingredients except the orange zest. Heat over medium high and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling bring the heat down to medium low and you’ll want the ingredients to cook down and the fresh cranberries to burst. The sauce will start to thicken as it cooks, cook for about 35 minutes or so until everything is cooked to the consistency you want. Add in orange zest, stir to incorporate and remove from heat. You’ll want to let the cranberry sauce cool before serving, you can make this a day in advance or let cool in the fridge for about 2 hours.
