Earthlove is a earth-centered seasonal subscription box that contains items that are 100% organic, eco-conscious, zero waste, cruelty free, non-GMO, and everything in the box is vegan except for bee products sourced from ethical beekeepers. You do have the option to opt for a fully vegan box. The boxes feature 6-8 hand picked products including teas, snacks, apparel, books, skincare items, accessories, bath and other surprises.
I discovered Earthlove though Instagram and was really excited to get a chance to do a review of this box. I had decided to reach out to the founder of Earthlove, to see if I could get a review copy to do a live video unboxing on Twitch and to do a written review as well. She was gracious enough to send me a box to do just this.
I am a seeker of wisdom and knowledge, I want to somehow help save our planet, my spirit animal is an owl, I believe that real, whole foods truly are medicine and can heal not just our bodies but also the planet. Call me a hippie, weirdo, or what you will but Earthlove was a company that jumped out at me and seemed in tune with my own train of thoughts and beliefs. I was not disappointed by what was in the box, it definitely exceeded my expectations.
What’s in the box?
We’ll get to what’s in the box in a moment. First we’ll start with the outside of the box which is made of recycled packaging and has a beautiful pattern of flowers covering it. It also contains the quote, “All good things are wild and free,” Henry David Thoreau. This sets the stage as we open it up to see what treasures await us inside.
Upon opening the box a goldenrod colored paper gently covers the delightful items about to be unveiled and you are greeted by the smell of herbal tea and lavender. The theme of the autumn box is “A Gathering in the Woods.”
Autumn Floral Smudge Stick – Spirit Wild Farm
The first item I looked at was inside a cardboard tube. As I gently removed it from the packaging, a beautifully scented autumn floral smudge stick was revealed. It is lovingly handmade from Spirit Wild Farm. The smudge contains autumn wildflowers and plants, the smell of lavender and sage permeate the stick, it also contains goldenrod, rosemary, lemon balm, hyssop, calendula, wild yarrow, wild rose petals and etched Palo Santo sticks. It smells amazing, I’m ready to ward off the negative energy and purify the house with this!
Highland Fling Tea – Cottage Botanicals
After smelling herbal tea when first opening the box my eyes gravitated towards the Cottage Botanicals Tea. I am a huge tea fan and am always looking to expand my palette. I drink a lot of dandelion root and nettle tea and I’m always on the lookout for new and unique teas. The Highland Fling tea is composed of wild rose and scotch heather, I don’t believe I’ve ever tried a combination like that and it will be great on a cool autumn evening or afternoon or morning.
Anise & Wildcrafted Mugwort Dark Chocolate Bar – Endorfin Foods
I’m pretty sure that most people love chocolate. Any time a chocolate bar makes an appearance there’s excitement and desire to taste this magical elixir. Dark chocolate is my absolute favorite and the botanical aspect of the bar sounds like a bit of sorcery was performed to perfect this bit of chocolate ensconced in anise and mugwort. Always put chocolate in a subscription box, it can do no wrong.
“A Walk in the Woods” Essential Oil – Adirondack Aromatherapy
The more I dive into this box I’m almost convinced it was curated specifically for me. I have a collection of essential oils and a pretty sweet diffuser that changes color. “A Walk in the Woods” essential oil is a story of scent. It is a journey through the forest on a cool autumn day. The scent is a blend of evergreen woods and needles, citrus, anise, vetiver, sage and patchouli.
Diffuser Aromatherapy Necklace – Bella Terra Studios
The Earthlove box has an aromatherapy necklace that you can use with the above essential oil, brilliant! Not only is this clever, the necklace is quite beautiful, it’s a round medallion made of ceramic clay with a lovely design that is glazed in a woodsy sage green color.
Aromatherapy Bomb – Total Essential Wellness
Bath bombs are a nice way to treat yourself, and you can use it in either the bath or a shower steamer. This aromatherapy bomb is lavender-scented and lovely. It’s time to grab some candles, put on some relaxing music, fill up the tub with some steamy water, heck maybe even toss in some flower petals and grab a book to read.
All Purpose Salve – Mellow Root Herbals (contains beeswax)
This all-purpose salve is great for dry skin, it has very few ingredients. I am always on the lookout for products with few ingredients and products that I can actually pronounce all the ingredients. This one hits the mark, it also has a nice herbal scent and I think we all need some moisturizing products in our lives.
Strawberry Honeysuckle Solid Perfume – Live Beautifully
I love the taste and smell of strawberries and honeysuckle reminds me of being a kid and helping my mom in the garden when I was younger. I would take the honeysuckle flowers and suck out the nectar, at that age I didn’t realize I was stealing food from the bees. I like to think they were okay with sharing. The scent of this perfume is delicious and delicate. I’ve been an avid user of solid perfume and perfume oils for several years, glad to add a new one to the collection.
Beeswax Wraps Set of Two – Mind Your Bees (contains beeswax)
This item got me super stoked, I have been wanting to buy reusable wraps for food and to get rid of plastic wrap. The wraps come in a two pack with fall themed designs and are a lovely accent to this box.
Book of the Season: Kiss the Ground: How the Food You Eat Can Reverse Climate Change, Heal Your Body, & Ultimately Save the World.
I am an avid reader and I love books about health, nutrition, holistic healing, gardening, how to save the planet, etc. So once again, I’m convinced that this Earthlove box was made just for me. This book is right up my alley and I can’t wait to read it.
I highly recommend this box to all earthlings, lovers, dreamers, philosophers, hippies, vegans, beegans, readers, writers, tea lovers, chocolate lovers, foodies, wizards, sorcerers, witches, etc. The list goes on and on. The boxes are sent out quarterly, if you subscribe annually it is $54.95 per quarter and quarterly it is $59.95 per quarter.
