The wind outside is blowing at the house angrily as the temperature sits at -4 degrees fahrenheit. I’m pretty happy not to have to work today and to stay indoors in my pajamas hanging out with Dr. Mittens. The doctor has been sleeping at my feet for most of the afternoon minus the morning arousing of loud meowing until his breakfast had been served.
I don’t remember the last time the temperature here in Michigan has been this low, I do remember some single digit weather in the past years. It’s supposed to get to -13 tonight! I’m thinking about making pasta for dinner or some sort of comfort food that sticks to the ribs. Maybe a soup or stew.
One of my favorite things to do during cold weather when I’m sequestered indoors is to snuggle up with Dr. Mittens and read books. I’m currently reading a book called The Mothman Prophecies written by John Keel which is based on a true story that happened in Point Pleasant, West Virginia in 1966. Several unexplained and paranormal events occured in that year, so far it’s a fascinating and strange book. It’s one of those books that makes you want to sleep with the light on and at the same time you can’t stop reading it. I also picked up Flying Saucer to the Center of Your Mind.
Alpha and I recently watched a documentary series on YouTube called Hellier that was very intriguing and inspired. It started out with an email of some strange creature activity that leads down an even stranger road filled with synchronicities and interesting events. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away. The documentary was made by Greg and Dana Newkirk and co-produced with Karl Pfeiffer and his partner, Connor James Randall. It sparked in us a deeper interest in the paranormal that has always sort of been there.
One of our friend’s John E.L. Tenney is a paranormal investigator and one of the most fascinating people that I’ve ever met. Towards the end of the Hellier documentary Greg and Dana actually call John to discuss a few things with him about the case. We’ve had him on our twitch channel three times discussing all things weird and paranormal. We hope to have John on our show again soon! Click here to check out one of our past broadcasts with John E.L. Tenney.
And there you have it, another glimpse into the life of Syn and the things outside of food that I’m interested in.
